So What's This All About?
This is not a "normal" church. We don't
have a kiddies bell choir, don't argue over the color of choir robes, and
don't force you to sign membership pledge cards.
This Church is a gathering of people dedicated to
We take the Bible literally when it says we
have the Mind of Christ living inside of us. Through
prayer, meditation, study, and diligent application of moral living, we
work toward what The book of Ephesians calls the Fullness of God:
this reason I kneel before the Father, 15from
whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16I
out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his
Spirit in your inner being,
17so that Christ
may dwell in your hearts through faith.
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may
together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is
the love of Christ, 19and
to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled
to the measure of all the fullness of God.
REAL Religion....beyond singing hymns written
hundreds of years ago containing words we don't understand, beyond arguing
about who's turn it is to bring a tuna casserole to the weekly
potluck...REAL Religion, dedicated to being transformed through the
renewing of our minds, exactly as Romans 12 says.
Who Are We?
The leadership of The Church of Yahweh ("TCOY") consists of a small
group of people in Tennessee and Southern California. We all have day jobs, families,
hobbies, and affiliations with other Churches; one sometimes plays the organ at a Lutheran
Church, one teaches Bible Studies at a Methodist Church, and so on.
We have come together for one primary purpose: To
remove the obscurity & ignorance surrounding God's
Divine, Holy Name, and see how that Name can be used as a precious gift to
help transform our lives.
The Church of Yahweh is a non-denominational (which, in today's world, means
that TCOY is its own denomination) outreach. Occasionally we have local
meetings, but our primary tool is the World Wide Web.
NO ONE MAKES ANY MONEY FROM THIS MINISTRY. We pay for the site with
money from our day jobs (computer programming, accounting, that kind of
thing.) TCOY is audited, and 100% honest in all financial
We personally type all the documents in the site, and personally
answer all the email.
- NOT A CULT. We don't even have a membership; if you consider
yourself a "member" of TCoY, you are. We don't
have a compound where people are locked-in, and don't even like Kool-Aid.
- NOT IN IT FOR THE MONEY. Search high & low, and you will
not even find anyplace on the Site where you can determine where to send
- NOT TRYING TO BRAINWASH ANYONE. Most Churches these days seem
to equate "faith" with blindly, unthinkingly accepting what the
Church teaches. We present some facts (like the linguistic history of
YHWH's Name), and many views, interpretations, opinions & ways of looking
at the world, and ask you to make up your own mind, with the
prayerful guidance of the Divine.
- NOT ASKING YOU TO CHECK YOUR BRAIN AT THE DOOR. We
specialize, some say, in providing fresh, real alternatives to the
interpretations the Church has been propagating for centuries. (For
some, we are the "thinking person's alternative".) We invite
& demand that people think about, research & struggle with this
material in a personal, direct way.
- NOT WEIRDOES. True, some of the ideas presented here are quite
foreign to people's "normal" way of thinking. But these are
all (we think) based on Scripture, reason and the witness of science.
But we have never had sexual experiments performed on us by little gray men
in spaceships (well, at least not recently), do not channel ancient Greek
gods (we don't even get cable TV), and have no use for time machines (since
they break so easily, and have you ever tried to replace a burnt transistor
in 3,000 BC anyway?)
- NOT THE "ONLY WAY." We are not the 2nd Coming of Christ.
We are not the "Chosen Ones" sent to redeem the world. We
have no prophesies. And we're not the only ones with this information.
You do not have to join TCOY in order to go to heaven.
- NOT TRYING TO "TOOT OUR OWN HORN." We present this
information freely, and lay no claim to its "originality."
Sometimes we get email saying "Hey, we've known this for a long
time! There's nothing so special here!" Well, that's always
so curious.....We didn't invent God's Name, nor Its meaning, nor its
vertical spelling....These have been "secrets" closely held by the
Hebrew Saints for centuries. In fact, we doubt there's a single
"original" thought in all the 100's of pages found here!
Ecclesiastes said thousands of years ago: "There is nothing new under
- THE INFORMATION MATTERS, NOT WHO DELIVERS IT.
Remember, the message is ALWAYS greater than the messenger.
- NOT A PERSONALITY CULT. Because of the number of inquiries,
we've uploaded a mini-autobiography (including a lovely
picture) of the Webmaster.....People react differently to information
depending on where it comes from. That probably comes from centuries
of having to blindly believe, on threat of torture, what the
"Sacred" Priests have taught, but that's another matter. But
none of us can do miracles, nor were foretold in the Book of Revelations,
and the Lady of Lourdes never spoke of us.
We are, in short, normal (well...) people with a living relationship
with The Living God, YHWH, who have found His Name to be the most powerful tool
to transform our lives.
The Web is massive, and it is so hard sometimes to separate true from
false. Some other "Sacred Name" sites present themselves as the
"only one." In fact, one Sacred Name Site lists YHWH.COM as a
"fringe" or loony site because of one paragraph that can be found in
these 100's of pages. Oh well.
The point is........THE INFORMATION IS ALL THAT MATTERS.
Opinions of the source of the information are, at least, a secondary
