Weekends are for rest.

Well, usually, half the weekend (at least for me) is for catching-up on chores & non-work tasks.  Cleaning the kitchen, washing the car, that type of thing.

One day each weekend, I really try to hold to, is the Sabbath.  To rest & relax.

And then it is Monday.

My task this week is to take a spreadsheet and prepare it for translation into a working computer program.

Oh, not just an "ordinary" spreadsheet, if there is such a thing...But a fully interactive, comprehensive Estate Cost Estimating spreadsheet.

It is 1,200,000 bytes large.

It contains literally tens of thousands of calculations.  They look something like:

@IF(Inputs:E146="",0,@IF(Inputs:C146=1,@IF($Inputs:$E$163="No",0,1),@IF(Inputs:D146=2,1,@IF(Inputs:K146="R",1,0))))

Of course, some of them are much more complicated than that.

And, should this week be successful, my "reward" will be to take that prepared spreadsheet next week and translate it into a fully working EXE computer program, to be distributed to thousands.

Should there be a single "m" that inadvertently gets changed into an "n", I will hear about it.  If even one "0" (zero) mistakenly turns into an "O" (oh), the entire structure will fall.

One million, two hundred thousand characters.

The thing is...Astoundingly, I really do feel prepared for this challenge.  I have been doing this type of thing for years, albeit never on this scale.  

Plus, yesterday was a glorious Sabbath.  I am as calm, together, and rested as I can be.

YHWH will continue to give each of us tasks to help us grow and stretch.  Me, you, each of us.  That's a part of life.  Even in "retirement" we have things to learn, and challenges to accomplish.  My Mom, at age 70, 2 weeks ago just had the first art show of her entire life.

Without a Sabbath, you are hurting yourself.

Without a faith to reach and stretch, you are doing yourself a disservice.

Rest, work, rejoice.

Inhale, hold, exhale.

Life, breath, joy.
