I Am LibertyA Book RecommendationI am regularly asked for book recommendations. As a published author, this can be a bit sobering. "Yeah, but don't you have something really interesting I could read?" And, the reverse is also true: people recommend things to me all the time, usually websites and books. Recently I received just such a recommendation. The author actually sent me her book. "OK, right, sure." I'm not trying to make too much of myself, but I answered 1,300 emails last year alone, and there's lots of dialogue and lots of recommendations. Initially, any single suggestion, even a delivered book, is just one in the crowd. Call it an occupational hazard. But this book was different. It IS different. It's called I Am Liberty, One Mind's Journey Through Ascension. by Libby Maxey.
(As you can tell, we are working on bringing you an AudioBook of "I Am Liberty," complete with a spacey synthesizer soundtrack. If you are interested in that sort of thing, here you can listen to the soundtrack music here. And feedback is always welcome.)
If you are at all interested in the material offered here in The Church of Yahweh, you owe it to yourself to get a copy of this book, and read it. If you are at all interested in moving into real religion, past ideas and beliefs and doctrines into a changed life, this book will touch you. Approximately 2000 years ago St Paul wrote, in Romans 6:
Approximately 2000 days ago, Libby Maxey wrote,
The idea is the same; profound, yet utterly simple. What happened in Jesus was not just something to make doctrines about, or sing about, or argue about, or kill one another over. We can become actually connected with Christ: His death, resurrection and ascension can be the example, the forerunner, the prototype (to use a modern word) of our lives. We, too, can die to self. We, too, can be resurrected to new life. We, too, can ascend into heaven and be seated with the Angels. I Am Liberty, One Mind's Journey Through Ascension is Libby's story. What if, just what if, these stories could become real? Christ becomes the Mystic Center, the Axis Mundi, around which everything in our lives revolves. That's the whole idea behind Baptism, Communion, and (ultimately) everything the Christian religion is supposed to be about. Libby's story describes what happened to her when she started to take it all very seriously. Her book is the story of her Ascension into the Throne Room of Yhwh, believe it or not. If you are serious about God, religion, and your own ascension, her story will inspire you. Her story is not yours, we are all different. I'm more philosophical. Libby is more visionary. You may be more emotional, or work-oriented, or any number of things that we actually do in order to get connected.....To our selves, each other, and God. What matters is this:
Libby is a real person, like I said. We see Christ pour out amazing gifts and revelations...as she tries to drive down the road...get the kids to school...go through a shattering divorce and remake her life after years as a homemaker. This is serious, hard-core Transformational Theology inside the context of a real, one-leg-of-the-pants-at-a-time life. And so true was she to the Anointing Yhwh granted her, that she took the time to write it down, publish it, and risk the scorn. Libby uses italics like this to indicate when God/Jesus is speaking. But unlike other authors who demand we accept they are actually "channeling God," Libby's humanity always lets us know that these are the words of God as she understands them, as she hears them in her head. "I had this experience," she offers. Unlike other authors popular today, we need not accept the literal Voice Of God in order to benefit from her story. I'm going to try this once again, because it's a crucial point to me. I loathe those who position themselves as modern-day messiahs, prophets, God-channelers. I consider all such folks deluded, and guilty of being seduced by New Age claptrap. Even though I host "God's Website," I make it plain that I am all-too-human, and that such terms are just marketing / positioning / attention-getting devices in this media over-saturated world. (Well, it got YOU here, didn't it? Without those names & devices, the search engines would never have liked me as much as they do. End of lesson in computer savvy.) Yes, Libby uses the "we're somewhat used to this by now" style of God talks like this. But it is clear that this is the Voice as she hears it, nothing more. Other authors demand that we accept that they are channeling God -- otherwise, there would be no reason whatsoever to even bother with their work. That's the Essential Central Premise required to gain entrance to their world. Not so with Miss Maxey. "I saw this, I heard this." The Voice of God, even if it is "only" in her head, is utterly important, and worth noting. And we benefit from her story even if The Voice is "only" in her own head. Simply stated, it is startlingly refreshing to read such a real account by a modern Christian Mystic, who is now where I hope to be. I have never written a recommendation like this. I will be happy to do so every time I find a book, a person, like this. Libby has received many endorsements, and I am honored to be among them. Male or female, mystic or skeptic, I cannot recommend this book highly enough. THIS book, I Am Liberty, One Mind's Journey Through Ascension, should be the next selection of Oprah's Book of the Month Club. You need this book, and every single one of you can afford it. (I'm always amused with people sitting at $2,000 computers, with $30/month high-speed connections to the World Wide Web, pleading poverty.) The soft cover is $14.50, the electronic version is just $4.95. The author is not even remotely getting rich from this, only trying to recuperate her costs. You can even read the first 3 chapters for free, here. There is no financial relationship between Libby & TCoY, but I'll make you a simple deal:
I'm certain I won't refund a single penny. Yhwh bless Libby, and You. Ahyh
