A Treatise on CosmologyAuthor's PrefaceI Have to Write This BookI have to write this book. God told me to. For years I always wondered over the Biblical people of faith who did what God “told them to.” How did they know? Just how did the Divine communicate to them? An audible voice? Inner feeling? And how does one recognize this as “from God,” instead of one’s own desires, or deceptive darkness? I cannot resolve the historical/mythological issues in this question. They are lost in the ages of human history. But I have resolved the issue for myself. The Voice of God consists, for me, of the highest good I can imagine. What is the best thing I can do here? That is God’s will. What is the greatest truth? That is God’s word. What is the ultimate expression of goodness I can imagine? That is God’s voice. The highest, greatest, deepest, most profound truths I know are contained in this writing. Explaining the material herein, to the best of my ability, is the best thing I can presently conceive of doing with my time, and the insights I have gained. Whether the result is fame & fortune, or ridicule & persecution I cannot know. And it does not matter. We must do what is right, and best, to the farthest extent of our understanding, regardless of the results. Because my ultimate goal is for neither fame nor fortune, but to be able to help people. That’s the proverbial “Carrot.” And then, of course, there’s the “Stick.” Eyes pop open, wide awake at 3:00 am, with ideas just screaming through my mind…reaching for the notebook so the last precious dream/fantasy/idea/revelation (you choose) does not get lost. The “Stick” is obsession, complete involvement with an idea that simply will not give you any peace until you take action on it. But You Do Not Have to Read This BookThe major religions of the world have (for the most part) served us well. But they are old. They contain many misconceptions, and these lead to a wide array of abuse and suffering. Many people will, of course, forever find new ideas and truth to be threatening. Others will find the truth to genuinely set them free. I have to do everything in my power to communicate this information. It is up to the individual how they will react. This is not on any “required reading” list. The likelihood of that ever happening is quite small. Yes, I must write it. But you do not have to read it. And there are many reasons why you may not want to.
I will put this as bluntly as I can. Over the decades I have presented this material, in one form or another, to thousands. Their reactions have been fairly predictable, depending on their present world view. Some have had their lives changed. Most think it is bullshit. It’s just that simple. I cannot know who you are, and therefore cannot know how you will be affected by this. But different groups of people are almost certain to find this (at best) a great waste of time, if not outright repulsive. (If it sounds like I am trying to warn you away from this, you are correct. This is for Mature Audiences Only.) Among those groups are:
So who might be left? This book will be the most interesting to you, and perhaps even benefit your life, if you:
True ReligionI belong to no religion because all religions belong
to me. To say you belong to a particular religion means that it (in some way) owns and controls you, says what you are to think and do. Along with that are prohibitions against exposing yourself to any ideas outside the “Official Collection of Approved Writings.” This style of living is a youthful, misguided, frightened pseudo-religion. More than 90% of all people on earth have the same religion: whatever mommy and daddy tell them is true. This is partially because nearly all parents want to live their lives through their children. But the larger issue is one of fear. Billions of people on this earth have been indoctrinated into feeling that their eternal destiny will be determined by what they believe. Not how they live, not what they know, not what they apply their lives to (which transforms belief into faith.) You have to accept certain doctrines unquestionably. Unthinkingly. Without any proof, or any doubt. That is called, wrongly, “Saving Faith,” without which you spend eternity lost. That, billions of souls on the earth are taught, is real religion. This is wrong, sad, foolish, and eventually will be transcended as the human race grows and matures. This document is meant to be a part of that process. When, on the other hand, we say that all religions belong to us, we are taking the much broader, more mature view. All thought, all traditions, are a part of the totality of human experience that has lead to today. Here. Now. You. Me. All faiths of the world are a part of my personal history. They belong to the Grand Inheritance which is mine, simply by being born. It is incomprehensible to me that a human being, with any desire for truth whatsoever, would deny themselves the opportunity to explore the Hebrew Bible, Christian New Testament, Muslim Quran, Hindu Upanishads and Bhagavad-Gita, the Buddhist Lotus Sutras, the Chinese Tao Te Ching and Analects of Confucius, and oh so many more. Like math, biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy. Truth must be One, and in the True Religion there can be no difference between “Science” and “Faith.” When you “belong” to a religion, that religion tells you which particular book is approved, what thoughts are allowed. When you realize that all religions belong to you, you see that all Books are opportunities for growth and enlightenment. I can read my calculus book like Divine Scripture. Of course, that’s the long road, the hard pathway. It is much easier to parrot what you are supposed to learn, so you can get on with the rest of your life. It is much more challenging, even frightful, to engage in a planet-wide, centuries-long survey of God. Where has man reached for God? Where has God reached for Man? Is there a difference? How can you tell? This Treatise on Cosmology is a personal proclamation, part of what I have gleaned from the World’s Religions, Science, Psychology, Medicine, and my own living experiences. This is, to the best of my knowledge, How the Universe Works. As always, I seek feedback. However, I ask this: if you are going to criticize any part of this writing, please do so from an attitude of addition or correction. What, exactly, do you think I have wrong? Copy and paste the offending passage into your email. What is the higher, more complete truth? What is your basis for saying that? Simply telling me that I’m going to hell will do neither of us any good. I will neither see nor respond to those types of messages. Still with me? Good. Let’s begin.
